"On Saturday I played a concert, sang songs to his poems, told various jokes about him. On Saturday he died. He is in Polotsk, his wife is in prison. There is no one even to bury him," wrote on Twitter his son Ihar Palynski, who is forced to live abroad and cannot return to Belarus.
Ales Palynski was born on September 14, 1967. He graduated from the journalism faculty of BSU. He was published in "Nasha Niva" and on the Radio Svaboda website. He lived in Polotsk.
His wife Tina Palynskaya and her daughter Margarita Rabinovich were detained in May 2025 and placed in custody in a criminal case.
Human rights activists believe that the case may be related to the KGB's decision to declare the "Belarusian Analytical Workshop" an extremist formation. This organization conducted sociological surveys among Belarusian citizens.
