G7 Summer Summit to Be Postponed for Trump to Celebrate Birthday
France has decided to postpone the G7 leaders' summit so that it does not coincide with events planned in the US for Donald Trump's birthday, reports Politico, citing officials involved in the summit's organization.

Originally, the summit was supposed to start on June 14 — US Flag Day and President Donald Trump's 80th birthday. However, in October, Trump announced that on the same day, a UFC mixed martial arts tournament would take place on the White House grounds, which could attract up to five thousand spectators.
To avoid a clash, France, according to Politico sources, changed the dates of the summit. The meeting of the G7 leaders is now scheduled for June 15-17.
The office of French President Emmanuel Macron did not confirm that the postponement was directly related to the UFC event. They noted that the new schedule was the result of consultations with G7 partners. The US Embassy in Paris did not provide immediate comments on the matter.
The article also recalls that last year, Donald Trump celebrated his birthday with a military parade marking the 250th anniversary of the US Army. At the same time, mass protests took place across the country under the slogan "No Kings," whose participants criticized Trump's policies and accused him of authoritarianism.
