Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine since February 2022 has led to significant losses among the high command of the Russian army. According to open sources and reports from Russian and Ukrainian media, at least 19 generals have died, though not all deaths have been officially confirmed by Moscow, writes The Insider.

Fanil Sarvarov is currently the last on the list of 19 Russian generals whom Ukraine has managed to eliminate.
Russia's general losses occurred both at the front and in the rear — as a result of artillery strikes on headquarters, aviation incidents, sabotage, and explosions in Russia. Several high-ranking officers were killed by snipers in the first months of the war.
Among the deceased are also officers who were already retired but participated in combat operations, including Wagner PMC and "Storm Z" assault formations.
