A taxi driver dropped a child off from the car, who then got lost.
The Transport Inspectorate has responded to the high-profile taxi incident in Brest. A meeting was held with drivers and managers of transport companies, where it was emphasized that the safety of children is a priority.

A recent incident in which a taxi driver dropped off a minor passenger who then got lost and was found by police officers has caused a wide public outcry, BelTA writes.
According to local media reports, the incident occurred on November 17. The parents brought their son to a massage session quite far from home and left for home.
After the session, they called a taxi for the child. The massage therapist put the boy in the car and left. After a while, the driver began to inquire whether the child had money to pay for the trip or a phone. Hearing that he had neither, he decided to drop the child off right in the middle of the street. The driver canceled the order and drove away.
The boy, not knowing the area, got lost. Security cameras showed that he went in the opposite direction from home and found shelter at an empty bus stop. An hour and a half to two hours later, the child was found.
According to Denis Rakhatko, First Deputy Head of the Transport Inspection Branch for the Brest Region, the driver's identity has been established. He turned out to be a 48-year-old resident of Brest.
The driver has been brought to administrative responsibility under Art. 18.26 of the Administrative Code (violation by a taxi driver of the rules for the carriage of passengers).
"In order to prevent the recurrence of such situations, the branch of the inspection held a meeting with taxi drivers and heads of transport companies. Issues of ensuring the safety of minors, as well as increasing the responsibility of drivers, were discussed," said Denis Rakhatko.
