"I love Hungary and Viktor." At a rally in support of Orban in Budapest, Vance connected live with Trump

US President Donald Trump expressed strong support for Viktor Orban during a phone call to him during an election rally in Budapest. This was reported by Euractiv, writes "European Pravda".

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who is in Hungary to campaign for Viktor Orban, called Trump immediately after the Hungarian Prime Minister greeted him on stage during a rally of Fidesz party supporters.

Initially, Trump's phone sent Vance to voicemail, which nearly created an awkward situation right on stage.

"Sorry, the person you are trying to reach has not yet set up their voicemail," a female voice responded to Vance's first attempt, making him smile and try again.

When Trump picked up the phone, he didn't immediately seem ready to speak, asking Vance to "wait a second," but the deafening cheers of the Hungarian crowd apparently made him change his mind.

"I'm a big fan of Viktor, I fully support him, the United States fully supports him," Trump said, showering praise on the Hungarian Prime Minister.

Trump said that Orban "did not allow people to storm your country and invade it, as others have done."

He also addressed the crowd via Vance's mobile phone: "I love Hungary, and I love Viktor."

Vance stated earlier that he arrived in Budapest because "Brussels' interference" in Hungary's elections is outrageous. He also positively assessed Prime Minister Viktor Orban's stance on the Russian-Ukrainian war.
