Product Manager of Multi-million IT Startup Sentenced to Penal Colony for Gayun Case
Yury Khrameyeu worked for the startup ActivePlatform. But recently he was convicted of «abetting extremist activity» and imprisoned.

Yury Khrameyeu was born on July 5, 1990. He graduated from the Minsk Radiotechnical College in 2011. In 2016, he received a programmer's diploma from the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
In 2011, Yury got a job as a programmer at XB Software, and later worked at ActiveCloud. In 2014, he joined the startup ActivePlatform, where he rose from a developer to a business analyst and product owner — the person who decides what exactly the team will do.
The company specializes in cloud service management platforms and operates in the international market. According to public information about the company, its solutions are used for billing automation, service catalog, and cloud cost management. Its annual revenue is $18.5 million, according to data from the RocketReach portal.
Khrameyeu was involved in the development of the ActivePlatform web platform, which allows operators, integrators, and IT companies to sell and manage cloud services.

Outside of work, Yury loves to travel. On social media, he posted photos of active recreation in the mountains and trips to various cities.
It is unknown when he was detained. However, Khrameyeu's social media accounts have been deleted, and on Telegram, he was last online «a very long time ago».
Yury was tried in the Minsk City Court under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361‑4 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — «abetting extremist activity». It appears that the persecution is related to the Gayun case.
After the events of 2020, Belarus lost thousands of IT specialists who left due to political persecution, the threat of criminal cases, and pressure on the industry. Human rights defenders have repeatedly noted that criminal prosecution is used to intimidate businesses and professionals for disloyalty or supporting changes in the country.
