Preparatory work for the construction of the third power unit of the Belarusian NPP has begun in Belarus
Energy Minister Denis Moroz announced that financial, technological, and organizational aspects of the project are being discussed with "Rosatom".
"Following the meeting with the head of state on November 14, 2025, a decision was made on the further development of nuclear generating capacities and the construction of the third power unit of the Belarusian NPP," he said.
Preparatory work for the implementation of the project has already begun, he stated. A plan of priority measures has been formed, and a package of international agreements, planned for signing with the Russian side, is being prepared. Financial, technological, and organizational aspects of the project are being discussed jointly with the leadership of the State Corporation "Rosatom".
It is reported that, in parallel, work has been organized to study the prospects for constructing a second nuclear power plant in the Mogilev region.
