A girl bought Belarusian Camembert, but it melted on the plate. The manufacturer responded
The Belarusian cheese manufacturer «Berger» commented on the buzz around the unusual consistency of Camembert.
A TikTok user complained about the cheese's excessively liquid content. The cheese looks quite unusual.
However, specialists from the Vileyka production site of JSC «Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1» assured that such a texture is a sign of a perfectly ripened product, not a technical defect.
According to the technologists' explanations, Camembert is a «living» cheese that continues to change even after packaging. Under the influence of white mold enzymes, its structure gradually softens, becomes fluid, and its taste acquires a special intensity.
Specialists note that 30—45 days after production, the rind combined with a viscous, almost liquid center is considered a quality standard for lovers of this variety.
For those who prefer a firmer cheese, the manufacturer advised choosing a product with an earlier expiration date.
