A girl from Baranovichi had her virtual heart stolen on Telegram. She reported it to the police

A 17-year-old resident of Baranovichi contacted the operational duty service of the Baranovichi District Department of Internal Affairs. The girl reported that an NFT gift she had previously purchased for 14 rubles had disappeared from her Telegram account.

The police determined that a few days before the incident, the girl had clicked on various links in Telegram. Sometime later, an unknown individual gained unauthorized access to her account and took possession of the virtual gift.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Part 1 of Article 349 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus – "Unauthorized access to computer information".
