"I don't believe such an attack took place. Something happened nearby, but it had nothing to do with this."
Recall: on Monday, December 29, during a phone conversation, Putin complained to Trump that Ukrainian drones had allegedly attacked his residence in the Novgorod region.
Later, during a conversation with journalists, Trump admitted that there might not have been an attack. "You say there was no attack — that's possible, but President Putin told me this morning that there was," Trump stated.
The US National Security Agency concluded that Ukraine did not attempt to attack the residence of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, refuting Moscow's claims of an alleged assassination attempt on him.
