"First we must restore order in the country. Elections are impossible. It will take time," Trump stated in an interview with NBC. He did not specify when, in his opinion, elections in Venezuela would become possible.
Trump stated that the country's interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, is cooperating with the White House.
If this cooperation ceases, the US may again use force, Trump hinted. "We are ready to do it. In fact, we intended to do it [send troops to Venezuela after the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro]," he said.
