It became known how many corrupt officials were tried last year and how they were punished
Belarus has summarized the results of the fight against corruption for the past year. Statistics show that fewer corrupt officials were identified: in 2025, 657 people were convicted, which is 7% lower than the 2024 figure.
The most common crime remains theft by abuse of official powers — 259 people were punished under this article.

Almost as many were caught for receiving bribes — 229 individuals.
However, those who gave these bribes were tried ten times less frequently — only 22 people.
Also among the leading corruption cases is the abuse of power and official authority.
Regarding punishments, every third convicted person (199 people) was sentenced to a real prison term. The same number received restricted freedom or home restricted freedom. In almost all cases, corrupt officials paid for their crimes with money.
Almost all convicted persons were prohibited from holding leadership positions, and 29 people were stripped of military or special ranks.
Every third person received a suspended sentence — meaning they did not go to a penal colony.
