Iran's Foreign Minister: Strait of Hormuz is closed only to enemies, others can pass
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi, in an interview with the American liberal TV channel Ms Now, spoke about the situation in the country and around the Strait of Hormuz.

Abbas Aragchi stated that the new Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, allegedly has no health problems, despite rumors of his injury. According to the minister, the head of state continues to perform his duties and will continue to do so.
Speaking about the Strait of Hormuz, Aragchi noted that this important maritime route generally remains open for navigation. However, Iranian authorities do not allow the passage of tankers and vessels from countries they consider hostile. For other ships, according to him, movement through the strait is allegedly not restricted.
"The Strait of Hormuz is open; it is closed only to tankers and vessels belonging to our enemies. Others can pass, but, of course, many prefer not to do so for security reasons. I can only say that the strait is closed only to American and Israeli vessels and tankers," Aragchi stated.
The Iranian minister also commented on the strikes on targets in the region. He claims that Iran is striking American bases and other US facilities located in neighboring countries. At the same time, Aragchi accused Washington of attacking civilian targets in Iran, although the American side has repeatedly denied this.
He stated that Iranian military forces would respond to American strikes on facilities on Kharg Island. According to him, retaliatory actions could target energy infrastructure in the Middle East connected with the United States.
He also claims that missile strikes on Kharg Island using HIMARS systems were launched from two locations in the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Russia and China remain important strategic partners for Iran.
