The ministry warns that in the event of a conflict, consular assistance capabilities will be limited, and Iranian authorities hinder the provision of support to individuals with dual citizenship, writes Bild.
The risk of espionage charges and harsh detention conditions are also noted.
According to the ministry, commercial flights to neighboring countries are currently maintained, and overland travel is also possible. Several hundred German citizens currently in Iran are registered on a special crisis list. The Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the situation is "extremely unstable and tense," with potential for sudden restrictions on air travel and airspace closure.
According to American media reports, US President Donald Trump has been informed of the military's readiness for possible actions against Iran in the coming days; a final decision has not yet been announced.
