Instead of a fine for moonshine — a criminal case: In Slutsk region, a woman stuffed bribes into officers' pockets while being filmed

An attempt to avoid administrative responsibility for selling illegal alcohol turned into much more serious problems with the law for a 52-year-old resident of the Slutsk district. The woman ignored the police officers' warnings and literally forcibly handed them money, which led her to a detention center.

The story began with a tip to law enforcement: someone reported that in one of the local agro-towns, a woman had set up a point for selling alcohol right in her own home. District inspectors, who arrived for an inspection at the указанным address, confirmed the information and found illegal alcohol.

The hostess was explained that she would have to answer according to the administrative code for illegal entrepreneurial activity. However, the prospect of an official investigation did not satisfy the woman.

To cover up the case and avoid a report, the offender offered each of the police officers 200 rubles. The law enforcement officers repeatedly warned the hostess that offering money to an official is a crime. Despite this, the woman decided to act persistently: she simply walked up and independently put the banknotes into the inspectors' uniforms. She overlooked one detail — all her actions were continuously recorded on the police officer's body camera.

The end of the story turned out to be completely different from what the offender had expected. She was detained directly in her own home.

As Anatol Sushchenya, head of the law and order and prevention department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, commented on the situation, investigators have already opened a criminal case against the villager for giving a bribe. Now, instead of a usual administrative fine for selling alcohol, the woman faces a much more severe criminal punishment.
