It became known why metal columns were installed on the facade of one of the historical buildings in Minsk during reconstruction
The reconstruction of one of the buildings of the National Art Museum in Minsk continues. At an on-site meeting, the leadership of the Leninsky district of the city reported that safety control is organized at the site, and the external appearance of the building at the current stage should not cause concern among citizens, writes BelTA.

The metal columns now visible on the facade are a temporary strengthening system. They are needed to completely replace internal structures and floor slabs. After the completion of the work, the building should return to its historical appearance.
It is planned to restore all elements, including internal stucco molding and architectural decor. The building, as an object of historical and cultural value, must be preserved as much as possible in its original form. The progress of the work is controlled by the district administration and specialists from the design organization.

The entire museum complex is planned to be completed by the end of 2027. It will feature new galleries, transitions, and an inner courtyard with exhibition halls. Major repairs of the main building are tentatively scheduled for summer 2026.
Currently, internal dismantling work is underway at the site, and external load-bearing walls are being reinforced with metal structures. After this, internal load-bearing elements will be dismantled and the foundation will be strengthened. The facade, which is considered a historical value, will be cleaned and restored to its historical appearance after the completion of the main stages.
About 70 people are working on the construction. The work is complicated by the limited space: part of the street is occupied, there is no possibility to organize warehouses and equipment, so construction is carried out in very compact conditions.
