Ice cream with draniki flavor appeared in Belarusian stores. Not everyone liked it
Plombir "Potato Dranik with Vanilla Flavor" is now sold in Belarusian stores — an unusual combination of a sweet dessert and a traditional Belarusian dish. The novelty has already sparked debate on social media.

Previously, this product was released as a limited edition, but now a metropolitan producer has set up its production.
For the first time, the unusual flavor was presented in the summer of 2025 under the Milk Republic brand. At that time, the ice cream was released in a limited series in regions where the company was just starting operations. The manufacturer stated: if the novelty is liked by customers, it will be made permanent.

The first version of draniki-flavored ice cream
Now the rights to production have been bought by Minsk Cold Storage Plant No. 2. According to bloggers' reviews, the ice cream has a salty taste with notes of onion and cracklings, which really resembles a traditional dranik. The plombir itself is sweet and creamy, and the "draniki" aroma is primarily felt in the waffle part.
However, customer reactions are mixed. They note:
"In principle, it's ordinary plombir, but when you open the packaging, you smell draniki. All the 'draniki-ness' is in the waffle — a combination of sweet and salty. I didn't like it."
Threads users mostly reacted critically to the novelty. "I won't risk it. I'd rather eat a dranik," notes a user. But many want to try the new flavor.
At "Korona", the ice cream costs 2.21 rubles, at "Euroopt" — 2.29 rubles.

Previously, Minsk Cold Storage Plant No. 2 already experimented with unusual flavors — it produced New Year's ice cream with gingerbread and with the taste of cherry mulled wine.
Whether draniki ice cream will catch on will be shown by demand. For now, Belarusians are offered a choice: to eat this dish hot or cold.
