Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the U.S. to end the war have been temporarily suspended due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian side maintains almost daily contacts with representatives of the United States. However, due to events surrounding Iran, there are currently no necessary conditions or signals for holding a trilateral meeting.
Zelenskyy noted that as soon as security issues and the overall political situation allow for the resumption of this format of negotiations, the meeting will take place. Ukraine, according to him, is ready for this.
Since the beginning of 2026, representatives of the three countries have already held several rounds of consultations. In January and early February, delegations met in Abu Dhabi, and in mid-February, talks were held in Geneva.
The next meeting was planned to be organized in Abu Dhabi in early March — approximately from March 5 to March 8. The agreement for it was reached even before the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
Since February 28, Israel and the U.S. have been striking Iran, and in response, Tehran is carrying out attacks on Israel, as well as on American military bases and diplomatic missions in the Persian Gulf countries.
