The trial of journalist Pavel Dabravolski is held behind closed doors
The hearing of the political prisoner's criminal case began on February 27 in the Minsk City Court.

Dabravolski was detained in Minsk on January 22, 2025, 10 days after his 35th birthday. He is accused of «treason» (Article 356 of the Criminal Code). He faces up to 15 years in prison, Pozirk reports.
According to available information, the accusation is related to the journalist's professional activities during mass protests against the falsification of the 2020 presidential election results.
Dabravolski previously worked for both Belarusian and foreign media, including the Ukrainian magazine NV.ua (before the start of Russia's full-scale invasion). His last place of work in Belarus was the independent news agency BelaPAN, part of whose staff was recognized as an «extremist formation» by a KGB decision in November 2021.
On October 30, 2020, the journalist was detained in his apartment and then arrested for 15 days.
After leaving Belarus at the end of 2021, he traveled to various countries, including Iran and Russia, and was in South America, where he suffered a robbery attack.
He returned to Minsk in October 2024.
The journalist's Telegram account was activated at least three times after his arrest — on March 11, April 18, and April 26. The account in the messenger is now gone.
According to the Belarusian Association of Journalists, no fewer than 28 employees of domestic media are currently held in captivity.
