Former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, captured by American forces, is being held in solitary confinement – a punitive isolation unit in Brooklyn. The Spanish newspaper ABC writes about this.

The cell is 3 m long and 2 m wide. It is used for disciplinary isolation, suicide prevention, or to house particularly dangerous or at-risk prisoners.

Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured on January 3 during a special US operation in Caracas and brought to the US. They will be tried on charges of illegal drug and arms trafficking. It was previously reported that the first court hearing is scheduled for mid-March.
