The US states that it wants to take control of the "Nord Stream" and "Nord Stream 2" gas pipelines. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this in an interview with France TV, according to RBC.
According to Lavrov, the States seek dominance in energy markets. He noted that there are documents and statements by officials confirming this desire of Washington.
"Venezuela is already a direct example. It was claimed that the regime of drug traffickers should be removed. As a result, it all ended with the United States taking control of Venezuela's oil industry. The same is happening with Iran. US President Donald Trump, in essence, said in plain text that he wants to control the Strait of Hormuz and all hydrocarbon supplies passing through it, together with Iran. <…> The US is now also saying that they want to take the "Nord Streams" for themselves," the minister said.
Russia, however, "never initiates any actions to take something from someone," Lavrov emphasized.
