"We wanted to create the vibe 'Boy, bring me some vodka!'" "Women's Pub" opens in Minsk – all the waiters are men
Heated discussions about the bar's format continue. The creator herself clarified that men can come there — but only in the company of women. Strictly male groups are still not expected.

The owner of "Women's Pub," blogger and entrepreneur Tsiamchyta (Aliaksandra Tsiamchyk), announced its creation on March 8.

Women rejoiced at the prospect of a safe place where they could drink beer without unwanted attention. Men, however, were more skeptical, saying that women don't know how to drink, so the bar would close very quickly.
Many interpreted the offer as meaning men would not be allowed into "Women's Pub." However, Belarusian laws would not permit such a restriction.
Aliaksandra emphasizes on social media that she initially had no intention of completely prohibiting men from visiting her pub: "This is still a prohibition for a WOMAN on HER CHOICE of whom to come to the pub with. Two people were looking out the window, as they say. We ask male groups to bypass us, which we communicate everywhere, including in private messages, as the law prohibits us from segregating guests."

The creator also had to explain what would be "feminine" about her bar: "Typical pubs are football pubs. Our place is for women by concept, atmosphere, interior, tableware, and menu."
Only men work at "Women's Pub." This drew criticism from some. "Oh wow, how feminist it is not to give jobs to girls for the sake of an empty misandrist idea 'let the men serve us.' Concept, details, factory," wrote one Belarusian woman on Threads.

Others supported her: "Initially, I really liked the idea of a women's space. But when they said, invite brothers, husbands, etc., it became unclear... And in the end, the staff are only men, and the position is: 'girls work — and men serve us'."
I was very happy with the idea of a purely women's space, but in the end, it turned into a place where men are supposedly 'oppressed,' which was not at all what was expected. After this, all desire to go disappeared, although initially, I was wholeheartedly in favor of supporting such a cool idea."
"It's one thing that by law you can't deny entry to men — that's understandable and fair, but somehow they hired EXCLUSIVELY men as waiters and bartenders 'without violating the law' on gender discrimination. When I hear 'women's space,' I assume I'll only encounter women, or at most, men who weren't expected there."
For some, an exclusively male staff, on the contrary, is not a problem. Among the arguments: "It's for girls, so there should be young and handsome guys at the bar to please the eyes," and "in case a drunken boor comes in, there's a bouncer-bartender with strong arms behind the bar. I don't always carry pepper spray with me, for example."

By the way, Aliaksandra responded to the criticism regarding such staff selection in her stories: "We wanted to create the vibe 'Boy, bring me some vodka!' It seems obvious to me: boys work, girls relax. Imagine a huge women's table, and a waiter approaching, saying 'Meow-meow-toujours, my lovely girls, tyrmyndyr!' Their task is to be the most charming."

"Women's Pub" had its test opening yesterday, and today it has already begun full operation.
The interior, by the way, is unconventional. The restrained loft-style shell was intentionally softened here. Heavy burgundy curtains and large hanging lamps with threads create the effect of a chamber stage — as if the bar simultaneously functions as a set for a play.

At the same time, the furniture is maximally simple, and the tables are covered with crocheted tablecloths. So decide for yourself what it reminds you of more: a metro station, a cabaret, or a grandmother's apartment.
The main menu item is smoked mackerel (it costs 35 rubles).

There are also original snacks, for example, fried olives (these are large olives stuffed with mozzarella and pepper), seafood popcorn, shrimp chips.
A set of four items costs 60 rubles, main courses cost from 18 to 36 rubles, salads — 22-28 rubles, desserts — 16-18 rubles.
Beer prices start from 8 rubles.
Every Friday and Saturday, "Women's Pub" plans to host parties. The first two are already scheduled for April 3-4 and will run from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
