The leadership of the National Historical Museum of Belarus has changed. As "Nasha Niva" learned, 50-year-old Aliaksandr Khramy is no longer the director: he left the post this month. His duties are currently performed by his deputy; a new head has not yet been appointed.
Khramy's dismissal was not publicly announced. His name was simply removed from the museum's website.
At the clean-up day on April 18, when Lukashenka visited the construction of the new National Historical Museum, Khramy was not seen in the frame. The report on the museum was given by the recently appointed Minister of Culture Marat Markau.
Aliaksandr Khramy headed the National Historical Museum in April 2021. He is a teacher by education. Initially, he worked in his specialty, then pursued a career in museums. He was a scientific secretary at the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Nesvizh" (2011-2013), head of the exhibition department, deputy director of the National Historical Museum (2013-2019). In 2019-2021, he headed the Yakub Kolas State Literary-Memorial Museum.

Aliaksandr Khramy
Khramy openly stated that the approach to history is determined by "the president's decision," and that Belarusians should be proud of their history in the prescribed interpretation.
Over these years, the museum became increasingly integrated into the state ideological machine and joint projects with Russia.
Behind the scenes, it is discussed that the new director might be the communist Siarhei Klishchevich. This odious deputy of the House of Representatives has no connection to museum affairs. He was the first secretary of the Minsk City Committee of the BRSM and an ideologist of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
In 2016, at the opening of the Lenin monument in Minsk, he helped riot police detain Zmitser Dashkevich.
Klishchevich proposed replacing teachers with military pensioners, called the national flag a rag, and in 2020, he gave the middle finger to motorists who honked on Nezalezhnastsi Avenue.

He accused protesters of being externally controlled and advocated for the expulsion of students participating in protests.
In May 2026, Klishchevich intends to defend his dissertation on the topic "Komsomol of Belarus in the context of the transformation of Soviet society (1985-1991)."
