As stated, this measure is adopted to protect the domestic market and applies to vehicles, as well as self-propelled machinery and trailers, manufactured in Belarus or imported into the country. In certain cases, exceptions are provided for by international agreements.
Among the main changes is an increase in recycling fee rates by approximately 7%. For individuals, the increase is relatively small: for cars up to three years old, the fee increased from approximately 544 to 625 rubles, and for cars older than three years - from 1089 to about 1282 rubles. For certain categories of equipment, the increase may be significantly higher.
The rules regarding certain types of vehicles are also clarified, some of them are required to be brought into compliance with Russian standards, and requirements for the period of ownership of transport by foreign individuals are strengthened.
Belarusian car manufacturers may be exempt from this fee if they undertake obligations for the disposal of their equipment.
The new rules consolidate previous resolutions and repeal part of the old documents. They will come into effect after official publication.
