In Minsk, a 50-year-old woman fell victim to scammers, losing over 18 thousand rubles under the guise of investments. Despite this, she initially had doubts about the reliability of the counterparties, reports the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The woman saw an advertisement in social networks for supposedly profitable investments in stocks and decided to learn more. To verify, she consulted ChatGPT, which warned that the platform was unreliable. But the woman disregarded this, registered, and continued the risky game.
Afterward, a "consultant" contacted the Minsk resident and guided her actions. For about half a year, she supposedly traded on an exchange that was actually fake. To withdraw her "profit," she was told to open crypto wallets and register on other platforms. And to invest even more money, the woman even took out a loan.
As a result, she transferred over 18 thousand rubles to the scammers. Only when it became clear that it was impossible to withdraw the money back did she contact the police.
A criminal case has been initiated based on this fact.
