A 49-year-old man actively consumed alcohol at a New Year's corporate party, and afterwards asked his ex-wife to drive him home. On the way, she complained that the driver of a BMW car, which was following behind, allegedly blinded her with its headlights.
When the cars stopped at a traffic light, the man got out of his car, approached the BMW, and started a conflict. He behaved very aggressively: he grabbed the driver by his clothing, pulled him towards himself, put his arms around his neck, and tried to strangle him. After that, he delivered several blows to the face.
The victim began to record what was happening on his phone. When he tried to get out of the car, the attacker ran up and pushed him, causing the man to drop his phone. The hooligan was only subdued by his ex-wife, who persuaded him to back off and drive away.
As a result of the incident, not only the victim's personal belongings but also his car were damaged — the total amount of damage caused amounted to more than 10 thousand rubles.
After the incident, the man was detained and a criminal case was initiated. In court, he partially admitted guilt. The court took into account that he has two children, is employed, and had no previous criminal record, although he had been brought to administrative responsibility.
As a result, the Minsk resident was found guilty of hooliganism and was fined — 100 basic units (4500 rubles). He must also pay the victim 1500 rubles as compensation for moral damage.
