Police received over 500 reports of phone scam calls in the past day
Thanks to the promptness of law enforcement officers and the vigilance of citizens, the vast majority of crimes were prevented, reports BelTA.

55 crimes committed using information and communication technologies were registered.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs' Department for the Organization of Processing Fraudulent Operations initiated the blocking of 16 phishing internet resources — these are fake trading platforms, banks, or services that are almost indistinguishable from genuine ones.
The possibility of making payments to 46 foreign payment details used by criminals was also blocked, and expenditure operations on 93 accounts were suspended.
Operatives detained four couriers who worked for fraudsters, including two foreigners. Over 140,000 rubles were seized from them.
«According to the method of committing illegal acts, buying goods on online platforms leads. This is followed by vishing on behalf of officials (phone fraud), phishing, and trading on financial exchanges,» the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified.
«Offers of quick and easy money or buying goods at a significantly reduced price online are always associated with the risk of losing money. The golden rule when communicating with phone scammers is to stop the conversation and report it to the police at 102,» the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded.
