Median Strips of Minsk's Main Thoroughfares Decorated with Eight Thousand Boxes of Violas
Viola, or pansies, are resistant to unfavorable weather conditions and tolerate short-term frosts.

Capital landscapers installed 8,000 boxes of violas on the median strips of Minsk's main thoroughfares. Flowering plants have already started to be planted in the city center, Katsiaryna Karotkina, Deputy General Director for Landscaping and Maintenance of Green Infrastructure Facilities at 'Minskzelenstroi', told the Minsk-News correspondent.
— Over three days, from April 9 to 11, we decorated Pobediteley, Dzerzhinsky, and Partizansky avenues, as well as Prytytskogo and Orlovskaya streets, with flowers in boxes. Since last week, we have been creating a viola flowerbed on Nezavisimosti Avenue — from Yanka Kupala Street to Victory Square. Currently, we are also planting these plants in vases at the transport interchange at the intersection of Orlovskaya Street and Pobediteley Avenue, — explained the Deputy General Director.

Viola, or pansies, are resistant to unfavorable weather conditions and tolerate short-term frosts. In 2025, it proved itself excellently on Pobediteley Avenue, and this year it will adorn the main streets in every district of the capital.
— After May 9, depending on the weather, we will begin massive planting of annual flowering plants. We plan to complete this work by July 3, — specified Katsiaryna Karotkina.
