"I would give our Polish neighbors time to prove themselves. We have many tasks and many opportunities. If we manage to work out mutual transport and logistics mechanisms, both sides will only benefit from this. If we find solutions to some trade and economic issues, border cooperation (listen, the railway doesn't work, planes don't fly, a number of checkpoints remain closed, queues are crazy), then, of course, we should expect an intensification of contacts," said Maksim Ryzhenkov.
He added that the intensification of contacts is always followed by the development of relations in all areas. But the ball is in the Polish court.
"They talked a lot about having certain conditions. It so happened that all issues have been removed today. Please, we are ready to hold consultations with the Polish side at the level of deputy ministers, at another level — some authorized representative, and so on. To begin with, to work out the entire complex of relations. Someone needs to sit down and do a thorough debriefing, to understand where we stand with the Polish side today, across the whole range of relations. I think the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should do this," emphasized the minister.
