Currently, six private schools and two private kindergartens operate in Belarus. This was stated by Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets in an interview with Onliner.by.

Last year, the minister reported that seven private educational institutions were operating in the country.
Licensing of private kindergartens and schools was introduced in Belarus in 2022. In the summer of 2024, the Minsk City Executive Committee explained that not a single private preschool institution was able to pass the licensing procedure. Before the change in legislation, five to six such kindergartens operated in the capital.
Andrei Ivanets emphasized that there are requirements set for an educational institution — regardless of whether it is a school or a kindergarten. "If you meet them, you get a license. The approach is uniform for everyone regardless of the form of ownership," he added.
