According to Spiegel, behind the scenes of political circles, the idea is being discussed that former German Chancellor Angela Merkel could be suitable for the role of mediator. She speaks Russian, is personally familiar with Zelensky and Putin, and has also been retired for quite some time.

After Putin proposed former Chancellor Schröder as a mediator, discussions about possible negotiations continue in the European Union — given the unsuccessful experience of US mediation, the EU this time wants to sit at the negotiating table. Europe's chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas, stated that it would be "not very wise" to allow the Kremlin to dictate the negotiator's candidacy, writes Bild.
Wolfgang Ischinger, head of the Munich Security Conference, expressed himself more cautiously: whoever ultimately becomes a mediator, they must receive "broad approval at the European level, especially from Eastern Europe and the Baltic states."
As head of government, Merkel, despite strong criticism from Poland and the Baltic states, promoted the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project. Additionally, she played a key role in the Minsk agreements of 2014 and 2015, which ultimately failed to prevent the Russian invasion in 2022.
Merkel's office informed Spiegel that "no requests to the former federal chancellor" regarding the role of mediator have yet been received. However, when asked if she could imagine herself in such a role, there was no denial.

А лучше всего, чтобы трамп вместе с ними всеми поучаствовал, тогда железно, переговоры пройдут успешно.
И да, чуть не забыл, переговоры только в Минске и в виде Минск-3.
