"Of course, we will increase the combat readiness of other types and branches of troops, practicing training and combat tasks taking into account the experience of the special military operation, including this year during joint training and maneuvers.
Among them, I would highlight the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces exercises "Interaction-2026" on Russian territory and the CSTO peacekeeping forces exercises "Unbreakable Brotherhood-2026" on Belarusian territory.
In addition, next year we plan to conduct operational exercises of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia "Union Shield — 2027," Putin stated.
The planned scale and details of these exercises have not yet been reported, but any such events draw increased attention, if only because Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, began immediately after the completion of the joint Russian-Belarusian exercises "Union Resolve — 2022". These were used to covertly move the necessary number of troops into Belarus, to the border with Ukraine, under the guise of exercises.
