In the Vitebsk region, a 67-year-old Hyundai driver was injured in a road traffic accident. He was hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

The accident occurred on the morning of October 31st at the 515th kilometer of the M1 highway "Brest — Minsk — Russia border". According to information from the regional State Automobile Inspectorate, the driver fell asleep at the wheel while driving. The car lost control and crashed into a cable barrier.

The injured person was taken to the nearest hospital. An investigation is being conducted into the incident.
The State Automobile Inspectorate reminded that a long trip requires constant concentration from the driver, and accumulated fatigue can lead to a brief loss of consciousness — a micro-sleep. At the first signs of drowsiness, fatigue, or worsening well-being, it is necessary to stop immediately and rest. Driving can only be continued after concentration has been restored.
