«What big noblemen you had!» Ireland's Prime Minister joked, receiving a Slutsk belt from Tsikhanouskaya
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's chief advisor Franak Viachorka told on his Facebook page about one of the episodes that occurred during the democratic leader's working visit to Ireland on October 26-28.

«Micheál Martin, the Prime Minister of Ireland, or in Irish, Taoiseach (Teeshock), was delighted with the Slutsk belt gifted to him by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.

Martin, by the way, is a historian by education, a former teacher, and is very interested in Irish language and culture. Therefore, Sviatlana told him about the history of Slutsk belts and the Belarusian nobility.

The Prime Minister unfurled the belt, looked at its length — about three or four meters — and joked: «What big noblemen you had!», — writes Franak Viachorka.
Naturally, this belt was not an original, but a copy, woven according to ancient technologies by modern masters in Poland.
