The Maldivian islands are becoming an increasingly popular destination for Belarusian tourists, not only in winter but also in summer. In the first half of 2026, 2840 Belarusians visited these islands, according to the Minsk-News agency.

The largest number of visits occurred in January — 676 people, and February — 564. The fewest Belarusians visited in April — 386.
For comparison: throughout 2025, 7442 Belarusians visited the Maldives. The most popular months then were March — 805 tourists, and November — 790.
Previously, the Maldives were considered primarily a winter destination, but now the number of Belarusian tourists is growing in the summer months as well. One of the reasons is the decrease in prices during the off-season. Hotels can offer discounts of up to 50% and also include transfer in the cost of accommodation.
As a result, holidays on the exotic islands are becoming more accessible not only for wealthy tourists. According to Hanna Niachai, director of the Belarusian tour operator "VoyageTour", during peak season, a quality holiday in Turkey or Thailand sometimes costs approximately as much as a similar trip to the Maldives.
Therefore, more and more Belarusians are considering the Maldives as an alternative to their usual resorts, including for summer holidays.
