Teenager from Lida brought over 430 thousand rubles to Minsk by taxi for scammers
The story began traditionally: an unknown person contacted the teenager via a messenger and introduced himself as an employee of the Department of Financial Investigations, according to Grodno police.
The perpetrator threatened the young man with criminal liability and convinced him to urgently declare the money kept at home. The teenager took the cash from the safe, put it into a backpack, and then traveled to Minsk by a taxi called by the scammer.
During the trip, the fraudster constantly stayed in touch and forbade the teenager from answering calls from relatives. Upon arriving at the specified coordinates, the young man waited for further instructions, but the scammer disappeared.
The transfer of money was successfully prevented thanks to relatives who managed to get in touch with the teenager. All the money has been returned to the family.
