Trump proposed renaming Lake Ontario

To Lake America.

Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that the United States is "seriously considering" renaming Lake Ontario to "Lake America," marking another escalation in his increasingly fierce dispute with Canada, as trade talks between the two countries remain deadlocked, writes Newsweek.

In his post on the social network Truth Social, Trump suggested that this move is being considered because the US does not expect to "do much more business with Ontario."

This assumption is reasonable, as relations between Washington and Ottawa have again deteriorated following the collapse of trade talks and a months-long quarrel between Trump and Ontario Premier Doug Ford.
