QR-code stands are being massively installed in Belarusian forests

New information stands have started to be massively installed in the forests of Belarus. The Ministry of Forestry reported that it is carrying out such work in all regions of the country.

The stands are manufactured according to a single standard. Their main feature is built-in QR codes, through which one can access various digital services from a smartphone.

Directly in the forest, one can find out what forest management works or logging activities are being carried out in a specific area, check the current map of prohibitions and restrictions on visiting forests depending on fire danger, place an order for firewood online, and also get acquainted with instructions on how to act if a person gets lost in the forest.

The Ministry of Forestry notes that such a system should make information about forest management more accessible and transparent. In addition, the stands can serve as additional landmarks for tourists and mushroom pickers.

Similar information elements are already used in some regions of Belarus, including in the "Azyory" landscape reserve near Grodno and on the inclusive ecological trail "Journey into Nature Without Obstacles" in the Rassony district.
