Nasha Niva's interlocutors link the detention of Vladimir Bas'ko with the «SoftClub» case, but the exact meaning of the claims against him is unknown.

Vladimir Bas'ko is a landmark figure in Belarusian IT.

He is not a programmer, but a functionary — one of the founding fathers of the High-Tech Park, the best figure for talking to the state on behalf of a collective IT specialist.

Bas'ko was at the origins of «Infopark» — an organization from the early 2000s, which united the leaders of young ambitious companies from a market that was still incomprehensible to the state. There were EPAM, Itransition, and SoftClub itself.

The ideas and requirements of the industry were formed on the basis of Infopark, which were eventually translated into laws — Bas'ko ran around the offices — and helped the entire sector grow.

The state used Bas'ko's authority in 2023 by appointing him to the Commission on Return, which is supposed to accept the repentance of Belarusians forced to leave their homeland due to political repression.

Vladimir Bas'ko's conversation with Lukashenko in 2021 became famous. In petitionary formulations, Bas'ko spoke about Lukashenko's resignation as president, but — «I ask you» — with a call to remain «the guarantor of independence.»

Lukashenko did not like the idea, he interrupted Bas'ko with the words «I'm not going to run anywhere.»

Let us remind you that the meaning of the «SoftClub» case is that there was allegedly a corrupt conspiracy between the IT solutions supplier company and the managers of a number of banks. They allegedly received kickbacks for loyalty to a particular supplier, but in the process they also creatively underpaid taxes, which became the primary reason for the attention of the authorities.

The detentions began on October 23, 2025 with the arrest of the general director and founder of SoftClub, Vladimir Sirotko.

Three days later, on October 26, security forces came to the chairman of the board of Zepter Bank Alexander Ignatov. Later it became known about the problems of the chairman of VTB Bank Vladimir Likhadievsky, as well as about the detentions of middle managers in Priorbank. Ex-head of RRB-Bank Vitaly Drankevich, a former investigator himself, was detained. It is also known about the detention of the former executive director of the Development Bank Artem Moroz.

The management of «SoftClub» is accused, as Nasha Niva knows, of tax evasion and bribery. There has been no official information about this case yet.
