Putin: Hostilities will cease when the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdraw from their positions.

During a press briefing following his visit to Kyrgyzstan for the CSTO summit, Putin commented on whether he intends to end the war in Ukraine in the near future.

According to Putin, there were no drafts of a peace treaty on Ukraine, only a set of questions for discussion. The US plan was handed over to Russia and reviewed.

«The draft peace plan for Ukraine needs to be translated into diplomatic language; some points sound ridiculous right now,» he said.

The American delegation is scheduled to arrive in Moscow «in the first half of next week» to discuss the plan. But Putin already has an opinion on how the war should end.

«Ukrainian troops will withdraw from the territories they occupy—then the hostilities will cease. If they don't withdraw, we will achieve this militarily,» he noted.

According to him, the pace of the Russian Armed Forces' advance is increasing, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly suffered losses of about 47,500 people in October.

Putin stated that the main problem for Ukrainians is allegedly that they are experiencing a growing gap between the losses and the people they can send to the lines of combat engagement.

At the same time, he reassured Europeans that Russia is not going to attack them, and Putin is even ready to confirm this in writing so that people can sleep peacefully:

«There are people there who are a little bit out of their minds. Or some kind of crooks. They publicly tell their population that Russia is preparing to attack Europe. Either they are serving the interests of defense companies. It's hard to say what motivates them, but from our point of view, it's a lie. But if they want to hear that we have no aggressive plans towards Europe—please, we are ready to record it.»
