The abbot of the Lavrishevsky Monastery, Abbot Aristarkh, has died.
The Prior of the Holy Alexiev Lavrishev Monastery, Abbot Aristarch (Drozdov), has passed away at the age of 54, reported the synodal department of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.

Hegumen Aristarkh (Drozdov Mikhail Mikhailovich) dedicated almost twenty-five years to priestly ministry, and twelve of them to serving the Lord as a monk, the press service of the BOC writes.
He was born on May 11, 1972, in Gomel, into a working-class family. After graduating from eight grades, he entered the Gomel Road Construction Technical School and, after graduating with honors, continued his studies at the Gomel Polytechnic Institute.
From 1996 to 2001, he studied at the Minsk Theological Seminary.
On September 2, 2001, he was ordained as a deacon, and on September 18 of the same year, as a priest.
After graduating from the Minsk Theological Academy, he was sent to serve in the Gomel Diocese.
From September 24, 2004, to June 15, 2022, he was a full-time priest of the Holy Peter and Paul Cathedral in Gomel.
In 2013, he took monastic vows.
From June 18, 2022, until his death, Hegumen Aristarkh (Drozdov) was the abbot of the Holy Elisha Lavrishev Monastery.
