Inspectors located and stopped the car. They smelled alcohol from the driver and offered him a test, but he refused and began to refer to his position in the Investigative Committee, asking to be released.

Afterwards, the situation escalated sharply: the man took advantage of a moment, got into the car, and tried to flee. One of the inspectors jumped into the moving car and tried to stop him by pulling the handbrake. The driver resisted, pushed the officer away, and continued driving at a speed of about 60 km/h for approximately half a kilometer.

The second inspector pursued in a service car. As a result, the car was eventually stopped, and the driver was apprehended with the use of force and handcuffed, as he continued to resist.
An hour and a half after the arrest, the man underwent a medical examination. 2.49 per mille of alcohol was found in his blood, as well as a medicinal preparation with a sedative effect.
A criminal case was initiated against him for resisting police officers with the use of violence. He was held in custody until the trial.
In court, the man pleaded guilty and explained that on that day he was on vacation, had been drinking, and decided to go with his son to his grandmother's. He also admitted that he refused the test because he understood what the result would be. He explained his behavior by alcoholic intoxication and apologized to the traffic police officers.
The inspectors sustained minor injuries, and in court, they asked not to punish the man too severely.
As a result, the court found the man guilty and sentenced him to four years of restricted freedom with assignment to an open-type correctional institution ("chemistry"). He was also deprived of his special rank of Major of Justice.
Among the mitigating circumstances, the court considered his guilty plea, remorse, and the presence of a young child. However, aggravating factors included alcoholic intoxication and violation of the oath of an Investigative Committee employee.
