Sabalenka responded whether she intends to switch from the Belarusian to another flag
Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, who has been living in American Miami for a long time, recently participated in exhibition tournaments, after which she gave an interview to British journalist Piers Morgan. During the conversation, the journalist touched upon the topic of her citizenship and the possibility of changing it.

This question also arose due to the fact that recently several Russian tennis players changed their citizenship, in particular Kamilla Rakhimova, who started representing Uzbekistan, and Anastasia Potapova, who switched to the flag of Austria).
Sabalenka, like those Russian tennis players, has been competing in international tournaments under a neutral flag in recent years due to sanctions. Nevertheless, she clearly stated that she has no intention of changing her Belarusian citizenship. The tennis player emphasized that she has always been proud to represent âsuch a small countryâ and wants to serve as an example for the children of Belarus.
âI want to represent Belarus for the sake of the children from my country who see me competing at a high level and can be inspired. I hope that through my example I will show them that if I managed to achieve this, to make my way from this small country to the top, then they will also be able to do it,â — noted Sabalenka.
