Minsk residents spend 38 percent of their income on food

According to the results of a sample survey of households on living standards for the nine months of 2025, the average monthly consumer expenditures of one household in Minsk amounted to 2,168.4 rubles (65% of all monetary expenditures), Minsk-Novosti reported, citing the Main Statistical Office of the capital.

The most significant part of expenses, as in previous periods, falls on food: Minsk residents spend 38.3% of consumer funds on groceries and visiting public catering establishments. Non-food items became the second most significant category (31.3%), and 28.2% of funds go to paying for services.

Of the total volume of consumer expenditures, transport accounted for 12.3%, housing payments — 8.1%, healthcare — 6.9%, household items, appliances, and home care — 6.1%, culture, recreation, and sports — 6%, and information and communication — 5.9%.
