Lavrov stated that Russia did not intend to attack Ukraine and is not going to attack Europe
Before the start of the war, Russia was not going to invade Ukraine, it expected to agree on security with the US and NATO, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Now he is ready to guarantee security to Europe.

«In December 2021, two months before the start of the special military operation, we were thinking of nothing but a peaceful settlement. We handed over draft documents to the US and the North Atlantic Alliance, which were aimed at agreeing on security guarantees in the western direction,» Lavrov said.
Lavrov assured that currently Russia also harbors no aggressive plans towards NATO members and European Union countries, Moscow is ready to legally formalize relevant guarantees.
«We are ready to formalize relevant guarantees in writing, in a legal document. Of course, on a collective, mutual basis,» Lavrov said.
At the same time, he stated that currently a «militaristic frenzy» prevails in Europe and, if European countries decide to fight Russia, then Moscow is ready for this «even now».
Also, the chief diplomat of the Russian Federation said that «Kyiv, with its current «level of consciousness,» is hardly ready for serious negotiations, «the presence of consciousness» among European leaders, Lavrov added, also raises doubts in him.
