Actor Peter Greene, best known for his roles in "The Mask" and "Pulp Fiction," was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on Friday afternoon, his long-term manager confirmed to the New York Post.
Greene, who built a reputation as a blue-eyed screen villain in the 1990s, died at the age of 60.
He was found unconscious in his Clinton Street apartment around 3:25 p.m. on Friday.
Police said no foul play is suspected, but the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
"Truly one of the great actors of our generation. His heart was as big as he was. I will miss him. He was a great friend."
A saddened representative added that Greene, who also appeared in "The Usual Suspects," was scheduled to begin filming in January alongside Mickey Rourke in the independent thriller "Mascots."
After a suicide attempt in March 1996, he sought treatment for addictions, according to his profile.
The blue-eyed actor appeared in some of Hollywood's most beloved classic films, including as Zed, a sadistic security guard and serial killer in Quentin Tarantino's 1994 hit "Pulp Fiction."
With about 95 acting roles, Greene also starred in "Laws of Gravity," "Clean, Shaven," "Blue Streak," and "Training Day."
