In Belarusian Cinemas for New Year, 'Prostokvashino' Will Be Shown Instead of 'Avatar 3'
James Cameron's blockbuster 'Avatar 3' has already been showing in European, Asian, and North American countries since December 17-19. In Belarus, its premiere was scheduled for December 27, but Russian distributors postponed it to January 8 — simultaneously with its showing in Russia, reports the Telegram channel 'Holy Belawood'.

In Russia, this is due to ideological reasons: during the holidays, domestic content is shown so that it has the opportunity to earn money. These are Russian fairy tales and cartoons: 'The Frog Princess', 'Prostokvashino', 'Cheburashka 2'.
In Belarus, the reason for the delay is that distributors cannot independently purchase copies of the film — nothing can be done without a decision from Russia.
At the same time, since autumn 2022, pirated content has been legally shown in Belarus.
