Andrei Shydlouski, known for his role in ideological purges at the faculty, lost his position under still unknown circumstances.
On December 9, a news item appeared on the BSU Law Faculty website about the results of the legal tournament for schoolchildren "The Power of Law".
Andrei Shydlouski's name is in the list of jury members and honorary guests.

Andrei Shydlouski, former dean of the BSU Law Faculty.
He should have been identified as the Dean of the BSU Faculty of Law, but he was not — Shydlouski is simply presented as “Deputy Chairman of the public association "Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers", Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor”.
Shydlouski's surname has also disappeared from the dean's office page. Now, according to the Law Faculty's website, the position is vacant. As recently as November, Shydlouski was the dean.

The reasons for Shydlouski's transfer to an ordinary lecturer position are still unknown.
Shydlouski headed the BSU Law Faculty in 2021 and was remembered by students and lecturers as a person who surrounded himself with informers and was appointed with the goal of purging free thought in the training ground for law enforcement agencies.

For a long time, Shydlouski was the Deputy Dean of the BSU Law Faculty for educational and upbringing work (from 2006 to 2020). After that, for a year, he held the position of First Deputy Director of the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Judges, Prosecutor's Office Employees, Courts, and Justice Institutions of BSU. In September 2021, he returned to the Law Faculty, this time as Dean. He replaced Tatsiana Mikhalova, who, although she participated in repressions against students, was not zealous in it.
