Mogilev resident killed mother of two children in front of them, he was accused 20 years later
In February 2005, a man came to the apartment of a 27-year-old woman to discuss the deferment of returning money for property he had previously stolen from her husband. The conversation ended in a conflict: the woman stated that she would go to the police.

Then the man pulled out a knife and inflicted no less than 30 blows on the woman. The murder took place in the presence of her children — a one-year-old and a four-year-old. The woman died on the spot from the injuries sustained.
The next day, the woman's body was found by her husband. Her older child was sitting next to the deceased.
To cover up the traces of the crime and avert suspicion from himself, the accused staged a robbery: he scattered things in the apartment and got rid of the clothes and shoes he was wearing during the murder. In 2005-2006, he was already investigated in this case, but at that time there was insufficient evidence of guilt.
The investigation did not stop all these years. Eventually, new evidence of the Mogilev resident's involvement in the crime was gathered.
The regional prosecutor's office recognized the charges as substantiated and agreed with the classification of the actions under paragraph 6 of part 2 of article 139 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — murder committed with particular cruelty.
