The Moscow Supreme Court overturned the decisions of three lower courts in the case concerning the sale of singer Larisa Dolina's apartment and recognized the right of ownership for the buyer Polina Lurie. Dolina's lawsuit to invalidate the deal was denied.

Lurie's demand for Dolina's eviction was sent for a new review to the Moscow City Court. Until the process is complete, the singer can live in this apartment, but after that, she must leave it.
Earlier, Dolina's lawyer, Maria Pukhova, claimed that the deal was made under the influence of fraudsters, however, the singer stated her readiness to return the 112 million Russian rubles (about 1.2 million dollars) spent by Polina Lurie.
The singer sold the apartment in June 2024, and in August, she claimed to have become a victim of fraudsters. Through the court, she secured the return of the apartment, after which the buyer, having no connection to those fraudsters, was left without both the apartment and her funds.
The Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow did not apply the principle of bilateral restitution, whereby the singer would have had to return the money to the buyer, and advised Lurie to turn to the fraudsters. The International Association of Lawyers and Consultants noted that such an approach creates a dangerous precedent and destabilizes real estate transactions: the transfer of ownership of money during settlement is a separate transaction, and the loss of funds due to the actions of third parties does not relieve the seller of the obligation to return the amount to the buyer.
This case caused a wide public outcry: accusations of dishonesty were leveled against Dolina, audiences began returning tickets for her concerts, and an online campaign for her 'cancellation' began.
Furthermore, the case created a new fraud scheme: a seller, after completing a transaction, justifies a lawsuit for its invalidity by claiming to have fallen victim to fraudulent actions. In 2025, over three thousand transactions were contested under the 'Dolina scheme', leaving bona fide buyers without housing and funds, and some – also with mortgage loans.
